Steven Roth is Partner at Health Care Program Advisors, possessing over thirty years of experience planning for and managing major systems initiatives for academic and community health systems. Steve’s focus and experience include strategic and tactical systems planning, contract (re)negotiation, facilitation of enterprise-wide and departmental system selections, merger/de-merger planning, information systems restructuring including insourcing and outsourcing, implementation management for technology-enabled re-engineering projects, and service line development for technology-driven care models.
Prior to joining Health Care Program Advisors, Steve was the Senior Vice President and Deputy Chief Information Officer for Albany Medical Center in New York’s Capital Region with responsibility for overseeing information services, telecommunications, and clinical engineering for Albany Med’s hospitals, physician faculty practice, and medical college. Before joining Albany Med, Steven was the Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Pinnacle Health System in Harrisburg, PA (now UPMC Pinnacle).- In addition, Steve has provided transformational CIO support at several organizations including Howard University Hospital, Washington DC, as a member of the leadership team which successfully architected and executed a $79 Million organizational turnaround and at Albert Einstein Healthcare Network, Philadelphia, PA, where Steve led a broad-reaching performance improvement engagement for its Information Systems function which significantly improved the operational value, expense model and customer satisfaction of this service.
Before his CIO and academic positions, Steven was a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he was responsible for the Firm’s Northeast Region Provider Healthcare Technology Practice. With a hands-on and transparent service delivery approach, Steve was ranked in the top 10% of partners firm-wide for client satisfaction and employee feedback.
Steve is credentialed as a Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer (CHCIO) by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), is a long-standing member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
Steve holds a BBA in Information Processing from The George Washington University, Washington, DC, and an MBA in Finance and Investments from Baruch College, The City University of New York.
Steve spends much of his free time maximizing the performance and longevity of “all things internal combustion,” ranging from leaf blowers, lawn tractors, and motorcycles to a near-fleet of aging automobiles.
