About Pat

Pat is a Co-Founding Partner of Health Care Program Advisors and leads the Revenue Cycle Management and Business Intelligence & Analytics service lines. Pat specializes in a wide range of advisory services, including financial and operational performance improvement, system implementations, post-implementation remediation and enhancements, as well as evaluating insourcing/outsourcing options and assessing new vendor offerings.

With over 35 years of professional experience, Pat has dedicated the past 15 years to enhancing revenue cycle operations, executing multiple revenue cycle turnarounds, and implementing new patient accounting systems. Before Health Care Program Advisors, Pat served as a partner and later vice president at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, where he oversaw the revenue cycle practice in the Southeast. Pat also held the position of COO at HealthTask, a joint venture outsourcing firm co-owned by Ernst & Young and Norrell.

Throughout his career, Pat has:

  • Conducted comprehensive revenue cycle assessments to pinpoint areas of opportunity
  • Driven end-to-end transformations by integrating all related services provided under value-based billing arrangements, resulting in revenue growth
  • Integrated utilization management concepts into Revenue Cycle projects
  • Devised measurement models and metrics that form the foundation for revenue cycle outsourcing benefits and associated contingency fees
  • Offered analysis and negotiation for equitable resolution of fee arrangements and contract disputes
  • Managed large system implementations for various multi-facility health systems, with experience in Cerner, Epic, Meditech, and Allscripts
  • Conducted extensive reviews of finance, accounting, revenue cycle, and related areas for staffing and additional cost reduction opportunities
