21 Jan Escambia County Health Care Authority Selects Health Care Program Advisors to Provide Cloud-Based Business Intelligence Solutions

ATLANTA, January 21, 2023 – Health Care Program Advisors (HCPA), a healthcare consulting firm based in Atlanta, Georgia, announced a three-year partnership with Escambia County Health Care Authority (ECHCA), the managing authority for Escambia County, Alabama which includes DW McMillan Memorial Hospital and Atmore Community Hospital. Under the agreement, HCPA will provide cloud-based business intelligence solutions designed to drive operational and financial improvement in ECHCA’s emergency department and revenue cycle.

Needing a partner well versed in data analytics, clinical operations, and financial management, ECHCA engaged HCPA to lead the development of two business intelligence solutions that extract data from ECHCA’s electronic medical record, Cerner CommunityWorks, and other third-party sources to provide a comprehensive view of key performance indicators to ECHCA’s executive leadership team.

The emergency department solution provides near real time insight into emergency department operations designed to improve patient throughput, increase patient satisfaction, and identify areas for process and quality improvements. The revenue cycle solution provides insight into key financial metrics designed to improve overall financial performance, drive front and back-end cash collections, and identify areas for process and workflow improvements.
